My cat horror antho, which is coming out from Wildside in a new, trade paperback edition this summer will look like this:

Yeah. Although I loved the old cover, it didn't sell all that well (not necessarily because of the cover but because the book was orphaned about four times from when it was bought and because the imprint it was meant for was killed off at the same time.

But this one definitely works.

Okay, that's flat-out awesome. Will look great on the shelf.

Ooh! I want. Don't suppose you know if it'll be at the American Library Association Conference this summer?

I have no idea--how does that work? Does the publisher bring copies down???? ore info please :-)

From: [identity profile] gwynraven.livejournal.com

As I understand it, yes. The conference always has an 'exhibit hall' where publishers set up booths and give out ARCs to the librarians, who read, review, and hopefully buy copies of the final release for their libraries. I've never heard of a publisher who went home with books, either :) It's the largest library conference in North America and there are always thousands of librarians there. This year it's in Anaheim, CA from June 26 through July 1st, although the big exhibit days are usually on the weekend. ALA does two conferences a year, one in June/July and a smaller one in January. There's more info at their website here: http://www.ala.org/ala/events/eventsconferences.cfm including a list of locations and dates for the next few years.

Do let me know if any the books you're working on will end up being there. I'll have to make sure to get in line early :)

Cat horror?! That's perfect for a 14-year-old I know -- would you say there's little enough sex and cursing that her mother won't come after me?

Only a wee bit of sex (IIRC the collaboration by Kathe Koja and Barry Malzberg has a bit...)You might want to vet it first though :-)
