I watched Basic Instinct 2, which is even more loathsome and idiotic than I'd expected it to be.

And Clerks, which was fun but not really my cuppa tea...maybe thirty years ago.

Masterpiece theater is showing Northanger Abbey tonight. THe previews look really good.

I have watched stay in bed movie weekend on lifetime movie network today. Will try to not watch TV anymore till Masterpiece comes on...I all most have tv eyes!

Hi really liked Dante, despite his peccadilloes. I wasn't wild about the other male characters though ;-) I assume/hope you grew out of it!

Aw, but how could you not love Randall's little berserker dance?

Actually, half the fun of this movie for me was the eerie familiarity of it all, since I grew up about 15 minutes away from where it was all filmed - Kevin Smith even went to the community college in my town for a few years back in the day and dated my track coach's sister. But I will admit some of it *is* a bit lowbrow. Heh.

I don't think the movie was aiming for my age group--I possibly would have enjoyed it more at 25 or 30...but late middle-age? Nope.

A valid point. Even though I am probably closer to the age it was intended for, even I found some of it a bit too crude.

I always thought Kevin Smith was vastly overrated.

Have you seen The Orphanage yet?

I liked Chasing Amy a LOT. And thought Dogma had its moments but I certainly wouldn't put him in my top 20.

I haven't had time to go to the movies! Too much theater instead. There are a ton of movies I need to see: Savages, There Will be Blood,
Atonement, Charlie Wilson's War, Michael Clayton, American Gangster --but most of them can wait for DVD/Netflix. The only two I think I need to see on the big screen if I can are There Will Be Blood and Atonement. Oh yeah, and I DO want to see The Orphanage at some point.
