I've got a few extra copies and as a blatant attempt to get the issue out there and read and noticed I will give away five copies to the first five responders who promise to read the magazine and review the issue on their blog (or elsewhere)--positively or negatively--entirely up to you. Think of it as an original anthology--60,000 words of all original fiction ! Yum.

I'd do it -- but the postal issue might apply to Canada as well...

(and my readership is not gigantic)

You know, if I didn't already have a copy...

So far I've only read "Holiday" and most of Terry Bisson's story, but it's looking like a really good issue.

Hi Fred,
They've all been spoken for (very quickly!) so it's a good thing you already do :-).
Enjoy the rest of it.

OT

Responding here to your url question:

This is the code you need to use. It allows you to use text as the link itself. (that link should direct you to the correct lj faq page).

This is a link to an example website

Re: OT

Hmmm. Ok. let me try. I wanted to add a link to Charles Vess's website in The Coyote Road post...Let's see if the easy way works.
thanks

Sorry...

not exactly what I'd meant to post, but I got interrupted.

Try this: (a href="http://www.example.com/")This is a link to an example website(/a)

but replace the url w/ the one you want; replace "This is a link to an example website" with whatever text you want to use; & replace ( & ) w/ < and >. Hope that helps!

easy to do

See if this makes more sense (each line is a part of the code)

(a href="

http://www.urlthatyouwanttouse.com

")

thiswouldbethetextthatactsasyourlink

(/a)

Put all those lines together, watch the spaces & don't forget to swap the <>s for the ( )s.

I'm glad to try to answer questions but unfortunately that doesn't mean I'm any good @ explaining them. 8-(

try this...

(a href="http://www.greenmanpress.com/home.html")Charle's Vess' website Greenman Press(/a)

replacing the ( with < & ) with > . I can't leave it exactly as it should go or you'd only see the result, like this:

Charle's Vess' website Greenman Press

I'm not @ all sure it's you, either. I now have screwed up, in some way or other, every single comment I've tried to make here. AAAARGH!!!

Re: every one

Can you email the correct template as a word file (that doesn't automatically become a hyperlink?) I used to do that all the time at OMNI online. Just use the template and fit everything into it.

I could but...

I don't think I know your email. ;-)

Re: I could but...

Hi Karen,
Yes, you do (check any of my messages on the All Hallows newsgroup ;-))
Although someone already tried giving me the template in an email and it still didn't work. Don't worry about it-life's too short, and for now I'm happy enough just posting urls that aren't pretty but that work.

Hi Jeff,
Several conributors (including the UK contingent) already received theirs. I'm waiting to hear who hasn't gotten them before letting Bill know. They were to go to you all straight from the printer.

Ellen: I think Mary and Rick need copies. Or they did last I asked if they got them. Looking forward to it.

From: [identity profile] ellen-datlow.livejournal.com

Yes, I know they do. But Terry Bisson got his and so did Lisa Tuttle and Joel Lane. I'm waiting to hear back from the rest of you so I can send one email to Bill to let him know which weren't received.
