My editor at B&N was kind enough to get me a few more copies of A Whisper of Blood to give away for blogging.

Because the book is only sold in B&N stores and at BN.COM and is a reissue of two earlier titles, no review copies were sent out. So.... I have 4 copies to give away. (US only). Speak up now if you want them. (I probably won't be able to mail them out until I return from Maine in a week.)

Would you mind saving a copy that we could give away on The Chronic Rift?

From: [identity profile] drewshi.livejournal.com

Well, I could give it to Andrea, who reviews books for us and we could review it first and then perhaps give it away. :)

I might be able to get you a copy of Poe to give away when it comes out early January.

Cool! If you need a mailing address:

The Chronic Rift
c/o John S. Drew
17 Elmhurst Avenue
Brewster, NY 10509

...and thanks. We should talk about setting up an interview at some point. It's been about 20 years, literally, since you were last on the show. Then again, it's been 20 years since we made new episodes.

I won't need it till January...
How/where would you interview me? Are they still live in a studio somewhere?

From: [identity profile] drewshi.livejournal.com

No, the show is a podcast now and we do the whole thing either by phone or on the computer using the Skype system. We got everyone back for the show, including Keith. If you haven't heard it yet, you can find the first couple of episodes at http://www.chronicrift.com. The first two episodes are on the long side. We learned quickly and have cut it down from the third episode on.

Well, I'd be happy to do a podcast for you guys one of these days.

I'm thinking you all might want them signed? If not, tell me :-) (I will not be insulted)

Someone on the [livejournal.com profile] robertdowney_jr comm wanted Robert as a vampire at Halloween, so I totally 'shopped it because I'm a little obsessive that way--and I've got a character he plays in my head, in my current WIP, who got vamped. So, two birds and all that. ;)

You got it--address please? (or email to me at datlow at yahoo dot com --with your name of course :-) )

You won't be able to review it on amazon (at least not under the new edition as it's not sold there--you could probably do so on BN.com though).

From: [identity profile] ardentdelerium.livejournal.com

its on amazon, but only 2 amazon users are selling it (rather than amazon as a company selling it). I'll put my review on both sites, just so it can reach more readers :)

From: [identity profile] ellen-datlow.livejournal.com

That's really ballsy for them to sell the B&N edition for almost $30--they're available for $10.00 brand new through B&N....

From: [identity profile] ardentdelerium.livejournal.com

They're probably hoping that if people are looking for it online, they'l ltry amazon first and then buy it there because it looks like its rarer, since only two people there are selling it.

I'll include that its a B&N published book in my review. Some friends of mine and I are talking about starting up a book blog, and if we get it up and running, I'll also put the review there, with a link to the B&N page for it.

I just posted on the amazon review area but don't know if amazon will let it stay up since I'm bad mouthing two of their booksellers for their greed... We shall see.

Sorry. The four have been spoken for--I have to check how many I actually have --at least three still have to go to contributors in the UK and Europe (which I'll be mailing from England in January). And I need to keep some for myself...if I end up having a few more extras, I'll make the offer again in a few weeks.

From: [identity profile] n5red.livejournal.com

I would love to have one, but perhaps it should go to a more worthy (or needy) reader.

From: [identity profile] ellen-datlow.livejournal.com

The problem is, I just sent out the book to someone in Australia this week and it cost a little bit over $20 (US)--he is going to be reimbursing me the cost of postage...but that's twice the worth of the actual book.

I hate to ask that of anyone else (unless they really really must have the book :-) )...

Doesn't cost that much more to send to Canada that it does to send inside the US though.

From: [identity profile] ellen-datlow.livejournal.com

I don't recall the cost to Canada but there is no longer surface mail outside the country.

Two books went out today: Julie's and Johanna's. As soon as I get two more incoming mailers big enough Mike's and Melanie's will go out. Sorry it's taking so long.
