Well, I don't think we need to worry about McCain-Palin in the White House anymore. Obama has pulled way ahead of McCain. Gee. What a surprise. Not. According to the polls and the electorate Obama is already elected.
I hear you there. A week is an eternity in the political space-time continuum. But McCain is simply not looking nor sounding good. And with this $700 billion bailout tax looming over our heads, Obama's promise of tax rate cuts for the middle class is sounding better and better with each passing day. In terms of Maslow's hierarchy of needs, survival, housing, and food are at the foreground for most voters.
McCain doesn't quite meet the criteria for these basic survival needs -- which will ultimately decide this election. National security has taken a back seat to fiscal doom & gloom (although it shouldn't; both issues are equally important and dependent upon the other).
I worry that something will happen to bring the focus back on national security...just in time for the elections. I received and filled out my absentee ballot today. Mailing it in tomorrow.
Something orchestrated on the national security front . . . that's a possibility. Stranger things have happened. It's pretty crazy these days. Frankly, I don't trust anyone in politics. But that's just me.
