Here you will see her marvelous work. I received several compliments on the necklace last night at KGB:

a new necklace and earring

Here's the info on both pieces:
This particular necklace was called..."The Dark Oil Slicked Vacuum". Basically this particular tube was unusual because of the heat pattern in the magnesium. (Magnesium is the "silver" looking part of the vacuum tube - when a tube loses its vacuum it turns to white powder and causes the tube to look clear). I designed a "hardware" chain - using various bits of modern hardware... but in this piece I used longer bits of link-beads that are a bronze colour to match the golden brown hue in the tube as well, I tried to choose an appropriate chain to match.

This particular tube has a lovely silvery cage assembly and some great insulating spacers. Where the pins go through the glass you can see a bit of colour in the wires too.

The earring is made from a "thermal fuse" and contains a small magnet inside. The glass looks great with the gear from an old pocket watch. I was really pleased with the design - a great mix of industrial, steampunk and cyberpunk. I've added some tiny steel beads - very bright and shiny - and right above them is a fantastic long steel gears I found. I'm going to be making a few variations of these on the weekend to put on etsy...a bit different though.
