The KGB reading featuring fiction, poetry, and a martini recipe from The Best of Lady Churchill's Rosebud Wristlet was a great success. Lots of people attended--photos of some of them will be posted within the next few days --and th readers were entertaining. Gavin read Richard Butner's martini recipe and gave away an old issue of LCRW to anyone who ordered a martini from the bar. Karen Russell read a funny story, as did Geoffrey Goodwin. D.M. Gordon read two of her poems and Kelly Link also read a couple of poems. Veronica Schanoes and Jeffrey Ford each read some of their LCRW stories.

And afterwards we all stuffed ourselves at Grand Szechuan on St. Mark's Place.

There's always room for you at the table anytime you can get someone to cover your Wednesday night shift.

Thanks. I'm going to try for the one in October with F. Paul Wilson and Thomas Tessier!

No promises, I still have to make sure I can get the night off, but it's usually not a problem. (Besides, I haven't seen Tom in a while. He wasn't at Necon this year or, if I recall, the year before.)

The looks and nods of approval from the bar man as Gavin read were priceless !

I believe it was the gent who owns and operates the KGB complex who was behind the bar at that moment.
