I added this to an earlier post but I'm not sure how many people actually check posts out more than once and this is too important to miss:

Watch this brilliant speech by Rep Marcy Kaptur WallStreet bailout-the rules are
It looks like the Democrat Congress make finally getting some balls. Brava!

I don't know if she's running for re-election this year but if not and in another year, maybe we can both donate to her campaign! (when we have money :-))

Well, that's as good a reason for us each to achieve financial security as any!

It sure is.
My sister told me today that the megaball (wherever that is--not NY, I don't think) is worth something like one hundred million right now. I told her I'd be quite happy with just one million, thank you.

I'm afraid I don't understand Spanish, but I do glean enough of your note to realize that you were a friend of Robert Legault's and are sending your condolences. Thank you so much. And I'm sorry you, too lost him as a friend.

Good to know I'm not the only one who thought the executives responsible for this debacle deserved not golden handshakes, but handcuffs, and to lose their assets under something like RICO - for gross negligence, at least, if not for larceny or fraud.

I also believe that before the politicians responsible for deregulating the banks ask taxpayers to foot the bill for rescuing these Ponzi schemers, they should set a good example by lending their own millions to the bail-out. It may only be a drop in the bucket, but at least they'd be leading by example for once.

Ok, end of rant. For now.

Re: I just want to say...

Thanks: IIRC, I stole it from [livejournal.com profile] kradical, who told me the originator was happy for anyone to use it. I love yours, too!

Someday I want a good "politics & poker" icon, but this will have to do until I find one (sadly cannot draw & haven't yet found a picture of an elephant & donkey playing poker)
