As I'm sure everyone has heard, the nominations are out, The Coyote Road and Inferno both made the ballot in the anthology category and Kij Johnson's extraordinary story "The Evolution of Trickster Tales Among the Dogs of North Park After the Change" is also nominated.
I'm over the moon. I'm also very pleased that Terri and Midori Snyder have been nominated for the Endicott Studios website they've run for so long in special award non-pro.
Congratulations to everyone.

Congratulations! I'm an educational paraprofessional. For summer school, I was working with 6th and 7th grade kids that were reading at about the 4th grade level. I read them the "Senorita" story from C.R. and they really connected with it. The next day, the regular reading teacher was back and went through my huge bag of books, pulled out Coyote Road and told me to get it for her. Sadly, I'd just left my other job as a bookseller, but I'll find it for her. It's a great collection!

Thank you so much. This is the kind of thing that makes editors/authors really happy! She can probably buy it on amazon or bn.com if she can't find it in a bookstore.

YAY! You get the happy chinchilla icon! Now get back to schmoozing at WorldCon. J/K.

P.S. Haha, I have learned that my minion friend was successful in her mission to say hello for me! Hee.

It's really weird being home while over half the people I know (it seems) are at WorldCon. I've had other LJers comment to tell me hello from NADWCon committee members and vice versa. Which is totally fun, but I still feel so left out. :( I'll have to go next year. (Actually, I'm already planning to. Montreal! Wonderful Neil as guest of honor! Fun!)

Oh, and how did the walk go? Did many people show?

Yes. She saw me last night and we exchanged hellos:-).

Next year should be less spread out. There were real problems with the layout of this year's con. I'll talk more about it when I get home.

The walk was great--at least 50 people and far too short. Only about 25 minutes. I could have walked at least another half an hour. But not that early--agh.

Looking forward to living the Denvention experience second-hand through everyone's accounts. :) Did you take pictures? Hope so!

Oh, I'm glad people showed up. Next year it should be a Twilight Walk. I'd go to that!

I took some, most at the pre-convention party.

I'd love that but...usually everyone's too busy that time of day.

Only if I was nominated for five books :-)...Although in a case like this, I don't think I'd split my own vote since it's among five judges. But I think Loggherea (sp) will win.

Congratulations

Hearty congratulations to you, Ellen, for these nominations, and thanks for your indispensible work.

It's too bad that the Journal of Mythic Arts at Endicott Studions is apparently comming to an end. But there's a lot there to enjoy, even so.

Re: Congratulations

Thank you so much.
Terri's giving up co-editing YBFH with me meant that she could write more fiction, which is good. So hopefully giving up the Endicott studio site will help her write even more.
