We finally got two days of winter, when the temperature dropped to the teens Wednesday and Thursday. Of course, it was even colder at night. Last night I had trouble sleeping. Why? Because I was cold. Why? Because I was too cold to get out of bed and turn on the radiator in my bedroom, which I generally keep off because it's always too warm in my apartment with that radiator on. (there's always heat coming through the pipes in the bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom. Instead, I got up and grabbed a wool blanket off my rocking chair. This is so illogical and I cannot explain it. Does this happen to you?

Now it's warmer but I swear that if it gets cold again I WILL get out of bed and turn on the damned radiator.

I have SO done that. It's too cold to get your body out of bed long enought to turn on the heat! I think part of the problem is when we sleep our bodies drop a degree or two. I second the blanket by the bed suggestion, but a nice woooly robe near the bed is even better becuase it makes trips to the radiator (and other places) less traumatic when it is cold.

Well, the blanket's now on the bed -until it gets to warm again. I have a wooly bath robe (one I took from my dad when he moved south for winters). But the radiator is actually CLOSER than the bath robe :-)
