And in honor, one of my two favorite Christmas songs:

Christmas Wrapping

My other is Tori Amos's "Little Drummer Boy" but NOT the one that's available online from 2007. Her live version from wayyy back. It was the very first time I'd ever heard her--it was on radio, probably Vince Scelsa's show and I thought to myself, what the heck is this? It's rough, it's raw, and it's very very moving. The version currently online can't hold a candle to it.

Happy Holiday's, Ellen. I'm really fond of the David Bowie/Bing Crosby duet of "Little Drummer Boy" and whatever the song Bowie is singing at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zMhSjDqvRs, but a close second now is this depressing buy oddly moving Pogues/McColl song that you probably already know, "A New York Fairytale" at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuexO12nE00

Thanks Jim. I just watched the Bowie/Crosby video yesterday. It's lovely.

I don't know the Pogues/McColl one--will check it out.

O. M. G.

We heard Christmas Wrapping on the radio 2 days ago, and since then I have literally said to my boyfriend about 5 times (when other Christmas songs are on the radio) "Why can't they play Chrismas Wrapping again?" I love that song.

You don't happen to have it on an MP3, do you? I'd LOVE to add it to the Christmas mix I am doing for my brother in law.

P.S. I love Tori. We got to see her at DAR Constitution Hall a few months ago. She did a great live version of Devils and Gods.

Love, C. (Achoo! Seemingly a bug arrived for Christmas ... ah well, an excuse to retire to bed with new books.)

Oh nooo. Sorry to hear that.

I'm just home from a very merry dinner party--and a little tipsy.
