So as everyone's probably heard, Salon Fantastique won the Best Anthology Award --Terri gave me a lovely speech to read for her and I said a few words. It was a big surprise --as the whole ballot was a strong one.

On my way home in an hour. I'll post again later today.

Thank you all! I was almost as thrilled at winning as I am that Gary Wolfe and Ellen Asher and all the other winners won.

It's very weird, as I didn't really think we'd win for this book. Joe Berlant (convention chair) was looking for me at the beginning of the banquet --he didn't notice me because I'd put up my hair-- and was apparently frantic. I couldn't figure out what the big deal was --he said he wanted to make sure all the nominees were there. Later, after the awards he stopped me in the hallway and said "now you know why I was trying to contact Terri to see if she was coming to the convention" --I told him that she never comes to conventions unless someone pays her way...

But. It never occurred to me --I just figured he was trying to get all nominees to attend.

So again thank you thank you thank you.

Yes! I yaaaaayed for you in James' LJ, but now that you have a post, I can do it here:

YAAAAAY!

James Nicoll, who used to own a book and game store in Kitchener, Canada and now reads for QBC and SFBC. He's sort of the nexus of knowledge in current fandom. Here's (http://james-nicoll.livejournal.com/1052998.html) the post.

Ah, thanks. I know who he is, but there an awful lot of "Jameses" around :-)
