Yesterday, before the big fire I was at Filthy McNasty's pub for a few hours drinking with the TTA crowd--which was lovely. Then Caroline Oakley and I hurried to Leicester Square and bought tix to a double bill of Pinter one acts at half price. The Lovers and The Collection--the woman in both was Gina McKee, who after the first play I realized had played the mother in Mirror Mask. There was a bit of dialogue in The Lovers that hearkened back to Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf--which were both produced in 1962--I'm wondering if one influenced the other or the bit just came naturally out of the couple dynamics of each play...Both plays are about marital gameplaying (the Pinter a bit less uglier than the Albee).
Today, I met Pat Cadigan, Cheryl Morgan, and Liz, a former Clarion student of Pat's on Charing Cross Road, where we awaiting the parade. Which was short but fun. Then we went to eat a ton of dim sum and all split--me to come home and work. Picked another story for YBFH and eliminated a couple of others (too long).
