SF Site and this one interestingly contrasts the different opinions on several of the stories.

Hellnotes ending with the kind of silly (IMHO) observation:
"It is interesting to note, though, that none of these recent writings can compare with a work of another master, and his take on Edgar Allan Poe: Granted, it’s a ridiculously hard act to follow, but Robert Bloch’s “The Man Who Collected Poe” surpasses anything in this compilation."

Ah, yes, the horror fiction equivalent of "No one can hold a candle to Mother's cooking," only insert name of favorite horror writer instead. This is usually, in my experience, followed by claims that there has been no good horror written in the last fifty years.

Uh oh. Hmmm. I'm pretty sure I sent it with a batch a week or two ago. If you don't get it within the next week, let me know and I'll mail you another copy.

I'm reading it right now, and I love it. I just got to Lucius Shepard's story last night. This is one of the best anthologies I own. I hadn't expected that, but these stories are more creative than most tributes.

Thank you!

Delighted to hear that. I tried to encourage the writers to be so, so I'm especially happy to hear from a reader that I seem to have succeeded.
