I'm visiting my friend John upstate and our friend Donni will be joining us from a different direction. We're specifically getting together for the Saugerties open artist studio weekend.
It might rain a LOT but hey, it's the country and it's beautiful there.

The 3 1/2 bus ride to Margaretville (so John doesn't have to pick me up in Kingston) will be spent reading the rest of my magazines: months of The New Yorker and weeks of Pulbishers Weekly, and New York. I'm also bringing printouts of an online magazine and the novel Sharp Teeth--we'll see how far I get with everything.

I doubt I'll be online much except to check email (I'm not taking the laptop).

I loved Sharp Teeth. While I read it I started thinking in that staccato, free verse style of his.

You are one brave woman. I have to say that I'm not keen on bus-ing anytime soon.

Oh you mean the accidents? Well, knock on wood, I've never had a problem and it's usually the small off name buslines that do...I'll be on trailways.

I was referring to the Greyhound Slayer, but you aren't riding a Greyhound, so no worries. Sorry, shouldn't be putting that stuff in your head right before a trip. Really sorry. If you weren't already made of steel, I'd have waited until after you'd made your trip, but something tells me you don't scare easily.
