I've always admired her "look" but never actually heard her music before. I'm not running out to buy her albums, but I'll certainly watch this video a few more times.
She never made it big in the States, but in the 1980s I fell in love with her powerful androgynous image and spoken-word vignettes coupled with some seriously funky music. You might enjoy 'The Apple Stretching', a song about New York, which begins: 'The sun comes swaggering across the harbour/and kisses the lady waiting in the narrows.' Great stuff.
