I leave first thing tomorrow for London (where I will stay first with the Clutes, then with Rob Holdstock and his partner) and hang out a lot with Pat Cadigan (and other Londoners and visitors such as Michael Swanwick and Marianne Porter, and Liz Hand, who will be overlapping with me)

So now I'm packing, cleaning up for my house-and-cat sitter, who stays here, trying to finish up as much work as possible. I'll be taking lots of reading with me for Best Horror of the Year and will be working on my Naked City intro.

Charles Tan raved about Poe on his blog Bibliophile Stalker .

I'm sure I'll probably post while away as I'll have my laptop and the Clutes and Rob H have wireless!

Will do...and of course! I'll say hi from everyone over to here to everyone over there --it makes it so much easier :-)

Weather's good so it should be fine.
Btw, how are YOU feeling now? Better?

Well enough that I'm able to get to work although I should still have some bleeding for a month or so. Mainly I'm happy that I'm able to get out of the house.

Have a great time! I'm sorry I won't see you this trip. :(

But, I'm seriously considering making the trek over for Worldcon, so maybe I'll see you there.

Sorry I'll miss you there too.
That would be great. You'll have to stop in NY if you can then, too.

It occurred to me (because someone mentioned it on a blog somewhere) that I could fly to NY and take a train up from there. Since I have many friends in NY that has struck me as a grand possibility to catch up and attend the con.

Except that August is never a good month to visit NY!

I just leapt about my lounge when I read you were coming to London! Are you doing any "appearances" / is there a way I can bribe you with coffee, cake or chocolate or trinkets to meet up briefly for a fan to grovel at your feet?

Hey there. I'll be doing a Poe event the 31st with Pat Cadigan, Nick Royle, and Kim Newman--under the aegis of the British Fantasy Society--I'm not on my own computer (hopefully will figure out why I can't get online with it later) so don't have the info to hand..but it's probably findable online --I mentioned it here on my lj a few weeks ago I think. Hope to see you there.!
No groveling :-)
