Codex writer's workshop

Tomorrow, I'm off to Chattanooga in order to torture-- I mean, critique-- ten writers who are members of an online workshop called Codex. Mary Robinette Kowal is hosting a retreat for about two weeks at her family's home and I'll be there Thursday -Tuesday and workshopping Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I've never been to Chattanooga so it'll be a new experience for me. Barbecue is promised and antiquing after I'm done working--at a place called Knitting Mill Antiques, which used to be--yes--a knitting mill and now houses booths of an antiques. Yay!!!

I will be online (there's wireless, bless Mary's family) but I don't know how much. While not workshoping, I plan to catch up on ALLLLL my non genre mags while down there (January-June New Yorkers) and possibly read Liz Hand's new novel --if my eyes don't fall out reading on the laptop.

Ooooh, that antique mill mall sounds great. In my experience the South and SW are fabulous for old stuff, and DIFFERENT old stuff than we get back east. Have a great time!

oooh. Good luck to ALL of you there. Poor headless Chernobyl kitty :-) My well-loved two headed one is happy with her live kitty friends on my bed (I hope).
