Echo by Kate Morgenroth

Just finished a terrific little book marketed as YA about a teenage boy whose brother was killed in a horrible accident. The surviving brother is not surviving very well and just about a year after the accident he begins to experience very strange things, as events (not to mention his life) spiral out of control. Only 135 pages with a great cover:

It's marketed as YA, eh? It looks like a dark book. I'll have to check it out (oh, what I wouldn't give for infinite time and money to read books!)

The cover reminds me of Peter from Ender's Game (i.e. what he used to do to the little woodland creatures!)

I need more time--much more time.

The cover art does reflect something in the book, but perhaps not what you think (I was surprised). It'll probably be out in paperback soon, as it came out in hc back in February.

Ooh, ok, now I'm really curious. I'll have to wait for the PB though, since $$ = nonexistent!

I really loved Echo - I was unpacking a box of books and saw the cover and immediately had to sit down and read it cover to cover. (I think Simon and Schuster has been doing a great job with their YA covers - of all the books I'm sent for the Norton jury they are the ones I consitently gravitate to putting on the top of the pile.)
