The Chronic Rift podcast

Many years ago, The Chronic Rift was on video and I appeared on at least two episodes. Now they regularly podcast and I've been interviewed a few days ago by John Drew, mostly about Poe. Please excuse the ahem, awkwardness and especially the fact that I didn't know the url of my own lj account dammit!

The Chronic Rift

Thanks Ellen.

Which reminds me that I forgot to put links to your website and blog on the Rift homepage. It's been corrected.

Thank YOU--I just wish you'd cut all my floundering over my lj url :-)

I tried to, but I couldn't do it neatly. It's not bad. I had a lot of fun talking to you.

That's ok. You did a great job--thank you.

It's not a proper comment-forgive me :)

Would you be so kind to suggest a few reading positions to me? I'm looking for books with 'logical' magic patterns in them, where the 'basic principle' is either language , music, sacrifice or any other, published between 1954-2009? I'm in the process of collecting primary texts for my PhD thesis and fjm always points me towards livejournal.

Thanks in advance!

I'm afraid I haven't a clue-in fact, I'm not even sure what you're looking for :-) Sorry.

Having problems downloading it at home but hopefully I'll get to it at work.

Don't worry Ellen, forgetting your URL is reasonable. Nerves are a bad thing. If it makes you feel any better, the other podcast I listened to the interviewee forgot her own position so it's expected that these things happen (hopefully shownotes are there to correct the error).

Yeah. It was a slow download for me and I have dsl.

Thank you--and thank you for pointing out flubs by other interviewees elsewhere! John says they have the correct url there now.

And someone pointed out a half an hour ago that my own website's down (sigh).
I figure whatever the problem is will have to wait till tomorrow as I don't expect anyone at bway.net to be around today.

Sorry about the downloading drag. It's a problem with Podomatic that I'm hoping I'll be able to resolve shortly.

Not on Easter Sunday!!

Just listened to it. Great interview Ellen. =)

You liar! ;-) It sounded a bit incoherent to me. I think I'm so used to email interviews that "phoners" are harder than ever.
Thank you for listening to it.

I really loved that discourse on Poe and Newman and Self-Publishing. =)

And hey, you did try to correct yourself when it came to your blog's URL.

Interview's now posted at SFFAudio (sffaudio.com).

[identity profile] ellen-datlow.livejournal.com 2009-04-12 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Welll, I'm sure there are people who will be really angry about what I said about self-publishing ;_).
TWICE and I only finally got it right the third time. (cringing).

It's fine Ellen. You're too critical of yourself.

[identity profile] ellen-datlow.livejournal.com 2009-04-12 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Ok--I'll shut up now :-)

[identity profile] charlesatan.livejournal.com 2009-04-12 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
You can blog about it... =P

My website's back up (for anyone interested :-) )

Yay!
