I know you referred to the wound as being like a zombie bite, but it looks like you have a Mummy leg one of those photos! The horror references follow you.

Yes! This is embarrassing, but I don't recall at what point of the whole process that wrapping was done (before I was in the hospital?).

OMG. That's a bad one. Do you know how lucky you are that this wasn't worse? You came very close, Ellen. I only saw the bandaged wound, 'cause I'm not friended on Flickr; but I am already familiar with what these wounds look like, and I can tell by the tissue inflamation surrounding the bandages that this was a dangerous injury. Staph and strep are seriously dangerous bacteria.

I know it was moving quickly. Between the time they drew the line on my leg and when Iwas started on the iv antibiotics (a period of about four hours)--that's when I started getting really nervous--until the antibiotics started working and the redness went away. I still have the line on my leg...Liz Hand drew a little picture on top ;-)

Hee. I also had one of those purple lines drawn around the infection, when my thumb was bad - it went all the way up to my elbow.

I found the whole process very interesting, but - well, let's not do this again, huh?

It went down to the left part of my foot (which was starting to swell-and seeing what happened when it swelled, I DID NOT want that to happen).

My purple line looked like a skinny map of Africa on my leg, and the nurses kept glancing over at me on the stretcher in the ER hallway and saying "That's not good..."

No. That's where the red extended to. It wasn't swollen that far up.

No idea. I fell down some stairs a month earlier.

it has gone beyond my limited skillzzz. I can't seem to find any way to ask you to friend me because you're already listed as a friend. I really don't wish to sound weirder than usual here, but I admit to being curious & having that curiosity balked just makes it worse, so yes, please, send me the grisly photo. I wish to better understand the full extent of your suffering. Really. ;-)
