You are on a speakerphone with at least 14 teachers and librarians and suchlike great, wise and good people, I thought. Do not start swearing like you did when you got the Hugo. This was a wise thing to think because otherwise huge, mighty and four-letter swears were gathering. I mean, that's what they're for.

Made me laugh on a day when I needed it. It's just such a perfect response.

Yes, I heard that her book was honored...I don't think that's the same as having won an award but too lazy to go back and check it out.

I loved it - it's awesome. In fact, I'm asking for the audiobook read by him as a birthday pressie.

Also, Ellen, I get to meet you on Saturday - we're attending the Poe BFS event in Fleet Street. I'll be the one who can't speak, making mumbling noises etc.
