I've found it a useful way to get in contact with friends in my old city. I'm not all into the promotional aspect of things like myspace and facebook so take that fwiw.

I don't think I'd use it for promoting my books but more for fun--if I use it at all.

I can see how it would be a useful tool for promotion but I'm always antsy about promoting myself in anyway. I feel dumb, basically. Then again, I don't actually have books to promote. *grins*

I've found there are a lot of time wasting games that you get invited to join, so I pretty much ignore all invites.

As Charles pointed out, I was quite hooked for awhile on the penguin app. no more games for ME!
