Photos of the New York Waterfalls cruise/ movie night

These are from Monday the 8th. Unfortunately, the light was mostly gone by the time the cruise actually began, but I'm very happy with my photos of the ship lines (whatever they're called):
New York Waterfalls and the waterfront

And tonight I watched more Deadwood (three hours worth, yum!) and Hard Candy which is a terrific little psychological thriller with Ellen Page, pre-June (which I haven't yet seen). There a really nice "little red riding hood" reference in Hard Candy --good show!

Yeah. The last season got so heavy I needed a break while watching.

Rome starts off that intense and never lets up. I've still not watched season 2 of it.

I've not tried Monk or Dexter.

I've really liked Tony Shaloub in the stuff I've seen him in, but at some point I developed a bizarre inability to watch broadcast television shows.

I've heard a lot about Dexter, but have just been really fatigued by serial killer fandom. On the other hand, if you're liking it that dramatically increases the chances I would. Hell, I liked Enchanted, which I don't think I would have watched if you hadn't said such good things about it.

I enjoy Monk, even though most of the episodes have gotten pretty schematic. Murder takes place, Monk comes in, there might be a few twists and turns, and he solves it. But occasionally there's an episode that does something else. And I DO like Shaloub in it. There is an ongoing mystery (what happened to his wife) that occasionally pops up and that's good.

Dexter seems to be getting richer as it goes on but I'll have to see how the second season pans out...it could be pretty schematic as well, but there are a few "problems" that are evolving that could keep the show interesting.

How much Monk do you need to see to watch it? I'm wondering if it'd be a good thing to get some of to watch on those nights when I want to watch something.

I'll keep an eye out for what you think of Dexter's second season.

Certainly not as much as you do for The Sopranos or Deadwood--in which the episodes follow and grow from the earlier one...

Try it and see if you like it.
