I'm hommmme -and won the first Shirley Jackson award!!
I had a wonderful, exhausting time at Readercon culminating with the Shirley Jackson awards at which all the winning stories were published by me. Scary but very satisfying.
The best part were the nominee "gifts" everyone was given: a large stone with "Shirley Jackson Awards 2007" printed on it. I will cherish it and promise not to throw it at those who don't like the anthology.
SHORT STORY: "The Monsters of Heaven", Nathan Ballingrud (Inferno, Tor)
COLLECTION: The Imago Sequence, Laird Barron (Night Shade Books)
ANTHOLOGY: Inferno, edited by Ellen Datlow (Tor)
NOVELLA: "Vacancy", Lucias Shepard (Subterranean 7, September 2007)
NOVELETTE: "The Janus Tree", Glen Hirshberg (Inferno, Tor)
NOVEL: Generation Loss, Elizabeth Hand (Small Beer Press)

Re: Woot! Woot!
Wow!
However, if she is dead (hell, even if she's not) feel free to consign her to the scrap heap or cannibalise her or whatever you're inclined to do on her account. I'm just glad she's out of the house.
Ditto the Flapper Corpse. I call her Corpse rather than ghost because her eyes are permanently closed. Is that not one of the creepiest looking "pretty" dolls you've ever seen? I don't know if you found it, but there's a little flat square of lucite that serves as a stand. She also should have a little gold purse & a pearl headress (they tend to come off. Sometimes for no reason. I mean it, she is CREEPY!). Anyway, glad to hear you didn't mind too much.
Did you like the button?
Re: Wow!
I'll try different batteries in the other--it's definitely got strange parts :-)--interesting enough to cannibalize.
And yes, the button is MY kind of button!!!
For anyone interested it says:
The glass can be
half empty
or half full...
as long as
there's
whiskey in it
