Well, I can also find a 1981 hardcover edition date for Stuart Schiff's DEATH, in addition to the October 1983 date; and neither of those jibe with the 1982 date given here. I'm not sure I buy all these internet dates as real evidence. Unfortunately, my copy is buried somewhere beneath the Burgess Shale. 1982 seems right, considering my vague memories of where I was when I read it.
