and my leg wound--I have kept the open wound photo private for "friends" so if you're interested in seeing it let me know--I don't want to freak regular viewers of my photos...

OMG. That's a bad one. Do you know how lucky you are that this wasn't worse? You came very close, Ellen. I only saw the bandaged wound, 'cause I'm not friended on Flickr; but I am already familiar with what these wounds look like, and I can tell by the tissue inflamation surrounding the bandages that this was a dangerous injury. Staph and strep are seriously dangerous bacteria.

I know it was moving quickly. Between the time they drew the line on my leg and when Iwas started on the iv antibiotics (a period of about four hours)--that's when I started getting really nervous--until the antibiotics started working and the redness went away. I still have the line on my leg...Liz Hand drew a little picture on top ;-)
