Today is my birthday

... and I stayed up till about 2:30 to see it in (that's around the time I was born).
Ellie called me at 10:30 to sing me the birthday song (not Happy birthday but the other, better one).

I have to get ready for my annual birthday lunch with one friend and then later am going to Brooklyn for a birthday dinner with other friends. And if the weather isn't too awful, we'll go to the beach to see in the new year.

Nice. I was in the UK several years ago for New Year's. The people that organize the displays really do seem to go all out.
