the Burdett reminds me a little of 8MM, the movie; don't know if you saw that. Rough to watch, but I liked it. Quite a bit more subtle than some people liked.
Featured an investigator hired by a widow to investigate a potential snuff film she found in her husband's safe. At the start, the investigator is so psyched out by the brutality, he can hardly watch, but as he watches more and more, he becomes blunted to it, begins to notice little details like a shadow on a wall.

eh, anyway, it reminded me of that. I've heard good things about The Somnambulist, will have to try and track it down.
